How do I start a new game?
Click the "New Game" button in the game controls. This will reset the board and start a fresh game against the AI.
How do I adjust the AI difficulty?
Use the difficulty selector in the game controls. The AI has multiple levels, from beginner to advanced. Higher levels will make the AI play more strategically.
Can I undo my moves?
Yes! Use the "Undo" button to take back your last move. You can also use "Redo" to restore a move you've undone.
How do I know if a move is valid?
When you select a piece, valid moves will be highlighted with a green dot. The game will only allow you to make legal chess moves.
What do the different piece symbols mean?
We use standard chess Unicode symbols: ♔ (King), ♕ (Queen), ♖ (Rook), ♗ (Bishop), ♘ (Knight), and ♙ (Pawn). Uppercase symbols are white pieces, lowercase are black.
Is the game mobile-friendly?
Yes! The game is fully responsive and works on all devices, from desktop computers to mobile phones. The interface automatically adjusts to your screen size.
How do I save my game?
Currently, the game doesn't support saving games. Each session starts fresh. We're working on adding game saving functionality in a future update.
What happens when I'm in check?
The game will notify you when your king is in check. You must make a move that gets your king out of check. If no such move exists, it's checkmate and the game ends.
